The Solution Centre designs, manufactures and sources products for instrumentation, control and communications, ranging from agriculture to field exploration — including irrigation control, crop and storage monitoring, and radio and communications systems. Equipment built for remote and unsupported sites, underpinned with a combined 100+ years of communications, electronic, electrical and field experience.
The Solution Centre (Aust) Pty Ltd is an Australian engineering business building instrumentation, control and communications for places with no infrastructure and nobody on hand. That capability now points squarely at agriculture. TSAM — The Solution Centre Agri Control and Monitor — applies the same engineering to the paddock: sensing chosen for the question you are actually asking, control driven from a measured target rather than a clock, and telemetry that runs on sunlight over a network you own. Behind it sits a combined 100+ years of communications, electronic, electrical and field experience, and equipment designed and manufactured in Australia.
Agricultural control and monitoring
The Solution Centre Agri Control and Monitor — built on the engineering that keeps remote sites running with no mains power and nobody on hand.
TSAM is not one product. Every property measures different things and acts on them differently, so we build to the job: choose what gets sensed, choose what gets controlled, and put it on a telemetry link that works where there is no power and no network. The capability underneath is the same one behind our remote communications work — unattended sites, solar power, low-bandwidth telemetry, and equipment that has to survive being left alone in the weather.
Soil moisture at multiple depths, soil and ambient temperature, nutrient and conductivity, tank and trough level, delivered flow, machine condition. The sensing package is chosen for the question you are actually trying to answer.
Latching valves, pumps, gates and starters driven from a measured target rather than a clock — with the safeguards that matter when nobody is watching: cycle caps, low-battery lockout, settle-and-recheck, fault flags.
LoRaWAN, solar, microamp sleep. One gateway covers a property; nodes report every few minutes and take instruction back. Data lands in Home Assistant, MQTT, a time-series database or a spreadsheet — wherever you already work.
Showcase — the first TSAM unit built
It waters to a moisture target, not to a clock.
A timer doesn’t know it rained on Monday, or that the top 50 mm looks wet while the root zone is bone dry. Sundew measures the root zone at three depths, holds each planting inside the moisture band its growth stage calls for, and opens its own valve to get there. Profiles cover vegetables, fruiting and dormant trees, natives, and a tapering establishment band that weans a new planting off water across two seasons.
Push it into the ground, screw on the hose, choose a profile. It runs on sunlight from then on, and tells you what it did.

TSAM · condition monitoring
Harvest doesn’t wait for a bearing.
The cost of an unplanned mechanical failure on a farm is rarely the part — it is the window. A gearbox that goes mid-harvest, an irrigation pump that seizes in a heatwave, an auger that stops with grain in it. The things that predict those failures change slowly and measurably, and almost never while anyone is standing next to the machine.
How it works: a solar-powered node on the machine reports vibration, temperature and motor current over LoRaWAN. A rising trend crosses the alert threshold while the machine is still running.
A bearing on its way out shows up as a rising vibration signature and a warmer housing long before it is audible from the ute. What matters is the trend across weeks, which is exactly what a person walking past cannot see.
Motor current tracks load and wear. Run hours and duty cycle let servicing follow actual use instead of a calendar — and catch the pump that has quietly been running twice as long as it should to do the same job.
The same telemetry as the rest of TSAM: solar nodes, one gateway, thresholds you set remotely, and an alert to your phone. Fixed plant across a property can sit on one network.
Typical applications: irrigation pumps and motors, grain augers and elevators, silo and aeration fans, gearboxes and drivelines on fixed plant, standby generators. Built to the machine — talk to us about what you need watched. Enquiries: sales@thesolutioncentre.com.au
Our fibreglass enclosures and towers are designed and manufactured in Australia, with towers built by structural engineers. Where a component is better made elsewhere we say so — antennas are sourced from Australia or the USA, and only types already proven in service are used.
Many battery kits and radio kits are deployed across Papua New Guinea. Ten transportable repeater enclosures have been in continuous service since 2012, and our tactical antennas have performed in seismic operations in both Western Province and the Southern Highlands.
Kits arrive complete and are set up by non-technical people in minutes. Lids open with supplied stainless wingnut bolts and no special tools, and everything packs back inside the box for transport, so there is less to lose in the field.
The Solution Centre undertakes R&D in projects across its domain of expertise, and partners with clients on the basis of shared cost and benefit.
Two decades of getting voice and data into places with no infrastructure. We design the network, build the hardware that has to live there, and hand over something that works unattended — the products below exist because a job needed them.
Path and coverage planning for repeater networks across difficult country — the work behind our deployments in the Papua New Guinea highlands, where sites are chosen on line of sight and reached on foot.
Repeater, duplexer, solar regulation and power built up as one working unit and tested before it ships, so commissioning on site is a matter of connection rather than assembly.
Sectioned towers in 2.5 m and 5 m and telescopic towers from 8 m to 27 m, manufactured in Australia by structural engineers. Omni, directional and phased array antennas chosen for the path.
Fibreglass and ABS enclosures designed and made in Australia for equipment that has to survive heat, humidity and rough handling — including transport cases a non-technical user can deploy in minutes.
Solar and battery systems sized to the load and the location, from utility panels through to rollable film where a rigid panel cannot be carried in.
Base kit radios, high-gain portable VHF antennas and field enclosures — proven in seismic operations in Western Province and the Southern Highlands, in field camps, vehicles and boats.
Enclosures, radio kits, towers, antennas and solar power — built for remote sites, seismic operations and farms.
